Ø No, they gave it to someone with more experience.

• Has Jake returned from his overseas business trip yet?

Ø I ran into him in the lobby. (省略yes 的情况)

• Are there any tickets available for today’s show?

Ø Sorry, they’re all sold out. (省略no 的情况)

否定疑问句

• Don’t you need to order refreshments for the party?

Ø No, Wendy is taking care of it.

• Shouldn’t we go with another shipping company?

Ø Let’s compare the prices. (不是yes/no,而是暂时保留意见的间接回答)

反意疑问句

• You wouldn’t happen to know when Mr. Smith will come, would you?

Ø Yes, he will be here around 3.

• You’ve read the new novel by James Kim, haven’t you?

Ø I haven’t had time.(省略no 的情况)

 选择疑问句

• Would you rather take a bus or walk?

Ø I wouldn’t mind getting a little exercise.(间接表达“要运动”，就是走路的回答)

Ø I’d rather drive my car.(A or B? 既不是A，也不是B，而C)

• Do you have my number, or should I write it down for you?

Ø I have your business card here.

• Can I pay by credit card, or do I have to pay by cash?

Ø Either is fine.

陈述句

陈述句和其他疑问句不同，没有经典回答形式。

• I’ve forgotten how often the newsletter comes out.

Ø It’s published quarterly.(与how often 相对的回答)

• That construction work outside is making so much noise.(不满，意见)

Ø Maybe we should close the windows (给予意见)

• I guess we already passed Helen’s place.(意见)

Ø No, it’s still a few blocks up ahead.(反对意见)
