    Essays Defined

　　文章的定义

　　一、An essay is defined as a piece of writing about a topic.

　　文章指的是围绕一个话题写的文字。

　　二、There are four main types of essay: Persuasive,Analytical, Expository and Argumentative.

　　文章有四种类型：有说服力的文章、分析性的文章、说明性的文章以及议论性的文章。

　　1、Persuasive Essay--An essay where the point is to convince the reader of your argument,

　　有说服力的文章——使得读者同意你的观点的文章。

　　2、Analytical Essay—Examining and interpreting the meaning of literature and media, such as:novels, plays, film and poetry.

　　分析性的文章——研究以及翻译文学作品和媒介作品，如：小说、戏剧、电影以及诗歌。

　　3、Expository Essay—Discussing and making decisions on the meanings behind ideas, themes andissues.

　　说明性的文章——讨论以及定义文章思想、主题以及存在的问题。

　　4、Argumentative Essay—Arguing your opinion on a topic in direct relation to other opinions onthe topic.

　　议论性的文章——围绕一个话题，从直接的观点到其他观点表达你的意见。
