　　Public notice of mofcom scholarship in year 2019

　　The Economic and Commercial Counsellor's Office (ECCO) of the Chinese Embassy in the Republic of Sierra Leone hereby informs the general public of Sierra Leone that the 2019 MOFCOM Scholarship, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, is now open for application from eligible Sierra Leoneans. The scholarship is a CHINA AID scheme geared towards helping developing countries develop and strengthen their human resource capacity by providing the platform for further studies in wide range of areas.

　　I. Eligibility

　　To be eligible, applicants must:

　　-be a citizen of Sierra Leone, and be in good health (Medical check should be done at Jui Hospital or 34 Military Hospital and the report should be signed by Chinese Doctors);

　　-be a bachelor's degree holder when applying for master's program;

　　-be a master's degree holder when applying for doctoral program;

　　-be under the age of 45 when applying;

　　-have sufficient English or Chinese proficiency which meets the academic requirements of the program. English: IELTS6.0 or above, Chinese: HSK level 4 (score 180) or above, or other evidence which indicates your English or Chinese proficiency is adequate.

　　II. Introduction and Application Process:

　　The MOFCOM Scholarship is only available for applicants who would like to further their studies at post graduate level (Master and PhD). Please read the instructions carefully before filling the application form. The application deadline is May 31, 2019.

　　There are two types of scholarship scheme (Type A and Type B) issued through the ECCO.

　　For Scholarship Type A, each applicant can choose the same (one) major in three universities out of the 26 designated Chinese universities as the desired options. Attached herewith are the list of 26 Chinese universities and English-taught Programs (Attachment 1) as well as the Enrollment Guide for this category (Attachment 2). Applicants can access detailed information from above-mentioned attachments. Do not forget to email merged PDF File of the scanned application form and supporting documents to trainingprogram.china@gmail.com.

　　Scholarship Type B is mainly for officials and leaders from government and academic institutions. Under this category, applicants can choose only one major and one university from a list of 38 programs from 33 universities. Attached herewith are the list of 38 programs (Attachment 3) and their detailed introduction and instructions (Attachment 4). Please carefully follow the instructions issued by the university to complete your application. Do not forget to email your merged PDF File of the scanned application form and supporting documents to the university and copy to trainingprogram.china@gmail.com.

　　All applicants are required to read the Enrollment Guide for Type A or Introduction and Instructions for Type B carefully, prepare the application materials in strict accordance with its requirements, finish the online application or fill in the university application form and complete all the application procedure. The most qualified applicants will be admitted.

　　III. The hard copy and scanned copy of all the application materials should be submitted to the ECCO of the Chinese Embassy in Freetown (the address is 42 & 43 OAU Village, Hill Station, Freetown) before May 31, 2019.

　　2. Photocopy of highest diploma;

　　3. Photocopy of academic transcripts;

　　4. A Study Plan or Research Proposal with a minimum of 400 words;

　　5. Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form (Attachment 5, checked at Jui Hospital or 34 Military Hospital);

　　6. Photocopy of English or Chinese proficiency;

　　7. Photocopy of a valid passport (at least 18 months);

　　8. CV;

　　9. Certificate of no criminal conviction (Police Clearance);

　　10. Two recommendation letters, one from your university and another one from your current employer.
