The Twenty-Second Senior Officials Meeting of North-East Asian Subregional Programme for Environmental Cooperation (NEASPEC) Held in Beijing

　　东北亚环境合作机制第22届高官会在北京举行

　　On October 25, 2018, the twenty-second Senior Officials Meeting of North-East Asian Subregional Programme for Environmental Cooperation (NEASPEC) was held in Beijing. About 50 representatives from member states including China, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Mongolia, Japan, the Republic of Korea (ROK) and Russia, as well as from international organizations including the United Nations (UN) Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific attended the meeting. Director-General of the Department of International Economic Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Wang Xiaolong attended and addressed the opening ceremony. Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Economic Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Huang Yiyang chaired the meeting. The Foreign Ministry, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Ministry of Natural Resources, the National Forestry and Grassland Administration and other departments sent representatives to attend the meeting.

　　2018年10月25日，东北亚环境合作机制（NEASPEC）第22届高官会在北京举行。来自中国、朝鲜、蒙古、日本、韩国、俄罗斯等成员国，以及联合国亚太经社会等国际组织的代表约50人与会。外交部国际经济司司长王小龙出席开幕式并致辞，国际经济司副司长黄昳扬主持会议。外交部、发展改革委、生态环境部、自然资源部、林业和草原局等单位派代表与会。

　　Director-General Wang Xiaolong noted in his speech at the opening ceremony that the NEASPEC has made important contributions to promoting environment protection and sustainable development in North-East Asia. Paying high attention to ecological conservation and global sustainable development cooperation, China is willing to, together with all the member states, jointly defend multilateralism, promote global environmental governance, implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and make positive efforts to build a clean and beautiful North-East Asia.

　　王小龙司长在开幕式致辞中表示，NEASPEC为推进东北亚地区环境保护和可持续发展作出重要贡献。中国高度重视生态文明建设和全球可持续发展合作，愿同各成员国共同维护多边主义，推动全球环境治理，落实2030年可持续发展议程，为建设清洁美丽的东北亚作出积极努力。

　　During the meeting, the participants listened to various countries' introduction of advancing sustainable development in their own countries and in the region, reviewed the NEASPEC's cooperation progress in such fields as transboundary air pollution, nature conservation, marine protected areas, low carbon cities, desertification and land degradation, and reviewed and adopted a work plan for external assessment and use of the core fund in 2019.

　　会议听取了各国对推进本国及区域可持续发展方面的介绍，审议了NEASPEC在跨界大气污染、自然保护、海洋保护区、低碳城市、荒漠化和土地退化等领域的合作进展情况，审议并通过了关于2019年外部评估和核心基金使用的工作计划。

　　The NEASPEC was founded in 1993, with its member states including China, the DPRK, Japan, Mongolia, the ROK and Russia as well as its Secretariat in Inchon, the ROK.

　　NEASPEC成立于1993年，成员国包括中国、朝鲜、日本、蒙古、韩国和俄罗斯，秘书处设在韩国仁川。
