Assistant Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong Visits Qatar

　　From October 24 to 25, 2018, Assistant Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong visited Qatar, during which he paid a courtesy call on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani of Qatar, and held political consultation between the two Foreign Ministries with Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi of Qatar, exchanging in-depth views on bilateral relations and international and regional issues of common concern.

　　2018年10月24日至25日，外交部部长助理陈晓东访问卡塔尔，拜会卡副首相兼外交大臣穆罕默德，同卡外交部秘书长哈马迪举行两国外交部政治磋商，就双边关系及共同关心的国际和地区问题深入交换意见。

　　Chen Xiaodong expressed that the relations between China and Qatar have made substantial development since the two countries established diplomatic relations 30 years ago. The Chinese side pays attention to developing relations with Qatar, and regards the Qatari side as an important cooperation partner. Taking the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as an opportunity, the Chinese side is willing to work with the Qatari side to consolidate political mutual trust, strengthen the alignment of development strategies, and accelerate the promotion of mutually beneficial cooperation in energy, infrastructure, finance and other fields, so as to enrich the connotation of bilateral strategic partnership.

　　陈晓东表示，中卡建交30年来，两国关系取得长足发展。中方重视发展对卡关系，将卡方视为重要合作伙伴，愿同卡方一道，以建交30周年为契机，巩固政治互信，加强发展战略对接，加快推进能源、基础设施、金融等领域互利合作，充实两国战略伙伴关系内涵。

　　The Qatari side expressed that the relationship between both countries is a model of state-to-state relations, and Qatar regards the development of its relations with China as the priority of its diplomacy. Qatar is willing to actively participate in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, and deepen practical cooperation with China, so as to push bilateral relations for greater progress in the next 30 years.

　　卡方表示，卡中关系是国与国关系的典范，卡塔尔将发展对华关系作为外交优先方向，愿积极参与“一带一路”建设，深化对华务实合作，推动两国关系在未来30年取得更大发展。
