Assistant Foreign Minister Zhang Jun Attends the International Seminar on the Joint Construction of the Belt and Road Initiative

　　On October 23, 2018, Assistant Foreign Minister Zhang Jun attended and addressed the International Seminar on the Joint Construction of the Belt and Road Initiative which was held in Beijing.

　　2018年10月23日，外交部部长助理张军出席在北京举行的共建“一带一路”国际研讨会并致辞。

　　Zhang Jun expressed that the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative is an international economic cooperation initiative put forward by President Xi Jinping. It aims to carry forward the spirit of the ancient Silk Road, open up new space for world economic growth and provide new impetus for international economic cooperation with infrastructure connectivity as the main line. Since the Belt and Road Initiative was proposed five years ago, it has received wide support from the international community, and has been translated from conception and vision into action and reality, thus becoming an important international public product.

　　张军表示，共建“一带一路”是习近平主席提出的国际经济合作倡议，旨在弘扬古丝绸之路精神，以基础设施互联互通为主线，为世界经济增长开辟新空间，为国际经济合作提供新动力。这一倡议提出五年来，得到国际社会广泛支持，从理念转化为行动，从愿景转变为现实，成为重要的国际公共产品。

　　Zhang Jun pointed out that up to now, more than 130 countries and international organizations signed cooperation documents on the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative with the Chinese side, and more than 140 countries and over 80 international organizations attended the first Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. The Belt and Road Initiative has been integrated with the development plans of international and regional organizations such as the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the development policies of various countries, forming a synergy for development; the construction of economic corridors such as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and the new Eurasian Continental Bridge has been steadily advanced; the China-Europe freight trains have made over 10,000 trips; and facilities construction including railways, highways, ports, economic and trade industrial parks has continuously released pulling effect on local economy. The Chinese side believes that the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative will be conducive to building an open world economy, promoting more countries to benefit from the global industrial chain and value chain, and help people of all countries realize their aspiration for a better life.

　　张军指出，目前已有130多个国家和国际组织同中方签署共建“一带一路”合作文件，140多个国家和80多个国际组织出席首届“一带一路”国际合作高峰论坛。“一带一路”倡议同联合国2030年可持续发展议程等国际和地区组织发展规划对接，同各国的发展政策对接，形成了发展合力。中巴经济走廊、新亚欧大陆桥等经济走廊建设稳步推进。中欧班列通行超过1万列，铁路、公路、港口、经贸产业园区等设施建设对当地经济的拉动效应不断释放。中方相信，共建“一带一路”有利于建设开放型世界经济，推动更多国家从全球产业链、价值链中受益，助力各国人民实现对美好生活的向往。

　　Zhang Jun noted that China's economy has entered a stage of high-quality development from a stage of high-speed growth, which will inject strong impetus into the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative with high quality. The Chinese side is willing to continuously make concerted efforts with all parties to adhere to the principle of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, integrate development strategies and plans of all parties, and promote the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative to a stage with high quality, high standard, and high level.

　　张军表示，中国经济从高速增长阶段进入高质量发展阶段，将为高质量共建“一带一路”注入强大动力。中方愿同各方继续共同努力，坚持共商、共建、共享原则，对接各方发展战略和规划，推动共建“一带一路”向高质量、高标准、高水平迈进。

　　All participating parties discussed the relevant progress and key areas of international cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative and reached broad consensus.

　　与会各方围绕“一带一路”国际合作有关进展和重点领域进行了讨论，达成广泛共识。
