　　--The 10th "Love Knows No Border" International Charity Sale Successfully Held

　　The best time and scene of the year you have to remember is the time when tangerines are green and oranges golden. The annual "Love Knows No Border" Charity Sale was once again held in this golden autumn as planned.

　　On October 21, 2018, when Beijing enjoyed extensive blue sky and red leaves fluttering with fragrance, the warm-up field of National Stadium was bustling with a great number of people. Initiated by Mme. Qian Wei, wife of State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, the "Love Knows No Border-Hear Love of The World" International Charity Sale was held on this field. 90 embassies in China, representative institutions of international organizations in China and more than 60 Chinese-funded enterprises and public institutions were presented at the event.

　　Spread warmth with good deeds and ignite hope with great love

　　The charity sale started from the enthusiastic performances of drum-beating dance presented by the Beijing Youth Troupe of Arts and the folk songs and dances by officials from the Fiji Embassy in China and some foreign students in China. State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his wife Qian Wei, Secretary of the Communist Party of China Committee of the Foreign Ministry Zhang Yesui, Vice Ministers Le Yucheng and Wang Chao, Assistant Ministers Zhang Jun and Zhang Hanhui, and more than 150 representatives of foreign embassies in China, as well as representative institutions of international organizations in China and their wives attended the opening ceremony.

　　The opening ceremony began with a video produced by a group of young diplomats volunteers, which reviewed the ten-year relays of love brought about by the "Love Knows No Border" Charity Sale and the Foreign Ministry's efforts in poverty alleviation. In this video, many touching moments vividly interpreted the spirit that "The world is full of love and love knows no border".

　　Mme. Qian Wei delivered a speech, in which she expressed her sincere appreciation to diplomatic envoys from various countries in China, representatives of international organizations in China, and those caring donors both at home and abroad for their long-term concern and support for the cause of poverty alleviation in China. Qian Wei said that this year marks the tenth year of "Love Knows No Border" International Charity Sale, which has become a well-known public welfare brand with the strong support of caring donors at home and abroad. In the past ten years, our hearts have always been with the people in the poverty-stricken areas, and the funds raised have been used to help villagers, people with disability and children in poverty-stricken mountainous areas in Yunnan, Gansu, Henan, Guizhou, Guangxi and other provinces in succession as a way to pass warmth with good deeds and ignite hope with great love. Every year in golden autumn, diplomats from various countries spare no efforts to participate in the charity sale with the most distinctive items carefully selected in their countries, which can show the cultural characteristics of their nations, and let Chinese people experience the diversified cultures of the world and also appreciate the sentiment of "One World, One Family" in the community with a shared future for mankind.

　　Qian Wei said that it is a solemn commitment made by the Chinese government to the people nationwide to win the fight against poverty and lead the poor and the poverty-stricken areas enter the moderately prosperous society together with the rest of the country. In response to the Chinese government's arrangement for targeted poverty alleviation, this charity sale will raise funds to implant artificial cochlea for hearing-impaired children in the poverty-stricken areas of Gansu, so as to help them get out of the silent world, feel the great love of the world, and listen to the beauty of life!

　　Pakistani Ambassador to China Masood Khalid has participated in the charity sale for six consecutive years. He delivered a speech on behalf of the diplomatic corps in China, and highly appreciated the outstanding achievements of the Chinese government in the cause of poverty alleviation. Masood Khalid said that over the past nine years, foreign diplomatic corps in China and representative institutions of international organizations in China have actively participated in the "Love Knows No Border" Charity Sale, reflecting the great love transcending the boundaries of countries and nations. The diplomatic corps in China are willing to continue to strengthen friendly cooperation with the Chinese side, and jointly contribute to the cause of international poverty reduction.

　　Feel love of the world today, and spread love around the world tomorrow

　　The innocent and lovely five-year-old boy Huang Chenyu, accompanied by his father, came to the site of the charity sale all the way from the mountainous area of Guizhou. He expressed his sincere gratitude to the "Love Knows No Border" Charity Sale and all the caring donors with his tender voice. Huang Chenyu, previously suffering from congenital heart disease, recovered smoothly in 2015 after he underwent a successful surgery with the help of the project. Huang Chenyu's father Huang Peng said emotionally that selfless help from all caring people has given his son a new life and also brought the whole family's life back onto the right track. His family, with grateful heart, has always been telling Huang Chenyu to remember the help of good-hearted people, and help more people with his sincere love when he grows up. In addition, 133 children from the poverty-stricken areas who have had similar experiences with Huang Chenyu also expressed their sincere gratitude to the charity organizers and generous donors via videos.

　　With great passion, the rehabilitated previously-hearing-impaired children in Beijing chorused the song named "Hear Sounds of The World" which went like "Thank you, wake up my ears, let me hear sounds of the world; after tomorrow, have a happy future together, my ears are no longer lonely, listen to wonderful..." These children's pure singing and bright smile deeply moved every person at the sale. At that moment, the contribution of love has received the most rewarding return.

　　Being an international cultural and gourmet feast, the charity sale is a platform for friendly exchanges and communication

　　Those household-name "classic and traditional items" in various booths attracted a stream of visitors. The items included Sri Lankan black tea, Lao glutinous rice, Malaysian white coffee, Thai Tom Yum Goong soup, Afghan lapis lazuli, Egyptian tapestries, Zimbabwean woodcarving works, Russian nesting dolls, and Cuban cigars. The rum and straw hats of the Dominican Republic and Panama, two new members of this year's charity sale, were also fairly popular. Various exhibition booths were full of dazzling and colorful items, exuding the air of strong exotic features, and forming a particularly beautiful landscape in the golden autumn of Beijing.

　　Beautiful Russian girls welcomed State Councilor Wang Yi and Qian Wei with their traditional custom of adding salt to a piece of bread on an embroidered towel; the Lithuanian Ambassador enthusiastically showed amber and beeswax to Wang Yi and Qian Wei; the Czech Chargé d'Affaires held a large cup of beer to warmly invite Wang Yi to have a taste; girls of the Embassy of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in bright national costumes took a group photo with Wang Yi and Qian Wei standing in the middle.

　　Many embassy officials enthusiastically introduced their exhibits in fluent Chinese, attracting visitors to linger on and even compete with each other to buy those items. Children ran happily and took group photos with the lovely and plump mascot named "Qin Qin Baby" of the "Love Knows No Border" Charity Sale. The National Stadium warm-up field was like a grand carnival where people could realize the dream of traveling around the world, experience the culture and cuisine of many countries with people of different skin colors, different races as well as different languages, and at the same time contribute to the cause of China's poverty alleviation.

　　According to preliminary statistics, the charity was participated by more than 10,000 people, raising a total of more than 6 million yuan which will be used to implant artificial cochlea for hearing-impaired children in the poverty-stricken areas in Gansu via China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation.
